You are probably familiar with the Purple Goldfish Project, but did you know there are two more colors in the goldfish spectrum? The three benefits and types of marketing lagniappe: Purple, Green and Gold.
And at the center of it all... service, sales and marketing.
Here's a great video that is right in line with the concepts we talk about in The Purple Goldfish Project. I found it over at WordofMouth.org, which is a treasure trove of information and tips for great customer service, marketing and social media.
The video was from their Word of Mouth Crash Course conference in May. In it Rob covers:
How to create memorable experiences by personally getting to know customers.
How to humanize customers and make them your friends.
How to get employees and executives on board with great customer service.
Let continue to revisit the Purple Goldfish Project with episode four of the video podcast. A Purple Goldfish is a company that stands out in the sea of sameness. In this show, we address two of the most frequently asked questions; Why a goldfish and why purple? Plus we take a look at Lexus and how they go above and beyond when it comes to service.

We continue to revisit the Purple Goldfish Project video podcast. We had a lot of fun filming the series and concepts we talk about are more true now than ever. In this episode we define Lagniappe, the word that the entire project is built around. We also visit Stew Leonard's, one of the best examples of a company that gets it.
Here's how Wikipedia defines it: Lagniappe -
A lagniappe is a small gift given to a
customer by a merchant at the time of a purchase (such as a 13th
doughnut when buying a dozen), or more broadly, "something given or
obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure."
Could this be the key to better customer relationships, more brand loyalty and increased sales? Tune in and find out.
